Bovine vs Marine Collagen: Which One Should You Take?

by Mo Mandegar, PhD on May 09 2026
Bovine and marine collagen are both well-absorbed when hydrolyzed, but they cover different jobs. Bovine delivers Type I and Type III for skin, joints, and connective tissue at a lower cost. Marine is mostly Type I with smaller peptides that absorb slightly faster, but it runs two to three times the price and warrants careful sourcing. The right pick depends on goal and budget, not on which one peaks in the blood ninety minutes sooner.
