The Chocolate

Marmels is a premium dark chocolate bar packed with high-quality protein. We use clean, minimal ingredients and sweeten with coconut sugar, so you get an indulgent chocolate experience with balanced macros and meaningful protein.

We start with whole organic cacao beans from a single origin in Ecuador. Our chocolate is not Dutch processed, which means it retains more of its natural flavanols and antioxidants. We use a 62% cacao base and keep our ingredient list minimal: organic cacao beans, coconut sugar, organic cocoa butter, organic whey isolate, grass-fed collagen, and organic vanilla bean. No fillers, artificial sweeteners, or unnecessary additives.

Our cacao comes from Camino Verde, an organic fermentary in Durán, Ecuador. The beans are bag fermented in a humidity-controlled room and sun dried on raised drying tables.

Nutrition & Ingredients

Each bar contains 12g of protein from a blend of organic whey isolate and grass-fed collagen. We use whey isolate specifically — a purer form with significantly less lactose than concentrate.

Yes. Each bar delivers 12g of protein in a form that actually tastes good. Same functional benefit, better experience.

We use bovine collagen peptides — specifically Type I & III, the same types naturally found in skin, bones, and connective tissue. They're hydrolyzed for easy digestion and blend smoothly into the chocolate without affecting taste.

All dark chocolate is naturally high in fat — cocoa itself is rich in healthy fats. Milk chocolate typically has less fat because it swaps those fats for significantly more sugar. We'd rather keep the good fats.

Sodium is very low across our bars: 20–25mg per bar depending on flavor, which is just 1% of your daily value.

Not yet. We use coconut sugar because it's less processed and has a lower glycemic index than refined sugar. Going truly sugar-free requires plant-based sweeteners (which often have an aftertaste), artificial sweeteners (which we don't use), or sugar alcohols (which aren't classified as sugar on nutrition labels but can cause discomfort for some people). We're working on a keto version with significantly less sugar — it'll just take time to get it right.

Quality & Safety

Yes. Our single-origin Ecuadorian cacao is tested for heavy metals including cadmium, lead, and mercury — all levels fall below EU safety standards. Our supplier provides lab-tested specs for every batch. Contact us if you'd like more details.

Yes to both. Marmels is gluten-free and made with non-GMO ingredients.

Not currently. Marmels contains whey isolate (dairy) and bovine collagen peptides. We're developing a plant-based dairy-free line — stay tuned.

Shipping & Freshness

During warmer months we add ice packs and insulation to every package and use two-day shipping to make sure your chocolate arrives in great condition. If your order is ever affected by heat in transit, reach out and we'll make it right.
